1.  Make small changes

Healthy eating and fitness should come naturally, not by exhausting or depriving yourself. Make small but consistent changes, such as swapping your coffee for water one week, and then adding (more exercise) the next.

2.  Go for nude food

The most important rule to achieving your health and weight-loss goals is by eating nude (unpackaged and unprocessed) foods and avoiding sugar. Eighty per cent of your weight-loss results will be reflected in the food you eat, while only 20 per cent is contributed by exercise.

3.  Hydrate first, eat second

Sometimes we mistake thirst for hunger, so keeping hydrated is very important. I advise drinking three to four liters a day.

4.  Perform a hormone boot camp

Keep your “hunger hormone”, ghrelin, low and your “I’m full hormone”, leptin, high by eating lots of green, omega-3s and including protein, such as salmon and chicken, in every meal.

5.  Remember, diet is a swear word

Healthy weight management isn’t achievable by fad diets, however, making a habit out of eating naked foods and drinking lots of water is. Research has found that women who undertake severe diets have a greater chance of suffering an eating disorder.”
