It isn’t accidental that Japanese children are brisk and intelligent.

Mothers always ask why Japanese children are intelligent. You can see the way that Japanese mothers teach their children when they are young.

1.     Eyesight

To stimulate newborn babies’ eyesight, mothers should hang sight pictures that have a lot of color near the place babies lie.

When babies are one year old, every day, parents should let them look at black and white checkerboard to increase concentrating ability of babies. Green and blue aren’t colors that newborn babies like, they like 2 basic colors: white and black. But mothers should remember that you should only let babies look at the checkerboard in about 3 minutes. You continue doing this thing in a week, and as a result, their concentrating ability will increase from nearly 5 seconds to 60-90 seconds.

High concentrating ability will be useful for babies’ studying in the future. So, mothers shouldn’t ignore this chance. When babies aren’t enthusiastic with looking at black and white checkerboard, mothers shouldn’t let them look at it for a while.

When babies are over 2 years old, mothers should stick alphabet table near babies’ bed. Stick an alphabet table whose alphabets are printed red, big and clear. Babies will get acquainted with alphabet when they are born and when they grow up. They will be very excited when they see alphabets.

Mothers should hold their babies in their arms and come next to alphabet table once a week, 2-3 seconds for each time and repeat. This thing makes babies struggle hands and legs when they come to alphabet table that has remarkable colors.

2.     Hearing

Mothers are advised to let babies listen to music when they are in womb. However, the first months of life, music has big effect. Every day, you should let babies listen to selected songs, 15-30 minutes for each time. You should let babies listen to soft songs that don’t have loud sound.

When you let babies listen you music, you should put them stand on mothers’ knee and let them sway from front to behind following with rhythm of music.

You should pay attention that you should not let babies listen to CD player in a long time because this thing can make babies get acquainted with CD player more and they don’t have emotion with mothers’ voice. The important thing is that mothers regularly talk with babies since they are born. Mothers can talk with babies softly when you give babies breast, change diaper, bath babies.

When babies are born, they can feel high and low level of music, familiar melodies, songs, voice of their parents and voices of other people. This ability doesn’t need to study through experience that we used to think. Through experimental researches, children can feel a song of their parents better than songs on CD player.

You can read poetry, sing to let babies listen with your real voice. And you shouldn’t absolutely let babies watch TV when they haven’t 3 years old yet.

3.     Touching

From being born, children can learn many things and memorize on their memory. Things that babies see and hear will form clear thought in their brain.

Being breast-fed is the first lesson with touch of babies. When we observe babies’ sucking, we can see that they seek for breast, hold in their mouth and suck quickly. At the beginning, their nose or chin are beaten, it’s difficult for them to find out the correct position to put nipple in their mouth. Many mothers use hands to help babies; however, they can gradually adjust quickly.

Mothers should willfully put nipple touch in other positions that are different from babies’ lips and mouth such as upper jaw, lower jaw, chin, right and left cheek. This way will help babies know how to adjust space and feel lower and upper positions, left and right positions.

Besides nipple, mothers can use fingers, towel or straw to scrap on upper jaw and lower jaw of babies softly. Babies will have feeling about when they lick or bite on these things and they won’t lick and bite these things when they lick and bite mothers’ nipple.

Babies will know the difference between the contact of their parents. They will have tendency to reflect excitedly with game that you touch on their toes or fingers.

In the first 6 months, your baby will need nutrients form mother’s milk or normal milk and next are hard foods. Because children often like sweet taste, it’s easier if you let them begin to eat with sweet vegetables such as carrot or potato.
