The
highly anticipated Peter Pilotto for Target collection arrived via Net-A-Porter
internationally on Sunday and it's proven to be a huge hit. The online retailer
has reported a big success after the launch with some of the most covetable
pieces selling out soon after they went on sale. Alison Loehnis,
president of Net-A-Porter, stated that the label has enjoyed a very successful
collaboration: "The response has been phenomenal! Peter (Pilotto) and
Christopher (De Vos) worked with Target on creating a collection that was
totally identifiable, yet different, and we knew this collaboration was going
to be a hit from the beginning."
A
rep for the company even added that items from the collaboration collection
were selling out in seconds and they had countless orders flooding in after the
launch went live: "At one point, we had more than one order being
placed every second."
Buying
Manager Ben Matthews stated that it was hugely successful for everyone involved
and they had anticipated the reaction because so many of their customers are
interested in the Peter Pilotto label: "The Peter Pilotto for Target
collaboration has been an incredible success. 'Peter and Christopher’s designs
for Target are amazing and absolutely resonate with the global customer. We
knew this collection would sell so quickly."
Some
pieces of the collection are still available, although one floral printed
skater style dress was the quickest to be snapped up and many other designs
have since disappeared. Sellers have also taken to eBay to sell items from the
collection, many charging prices above retail in order to cash in on those who
missed out.
