Schiffbau
Schiffbau - a
massive cultural centre on the site of a former shipyard
One of Zurich’s architectural highlights, Schiffbau is a
massive cultural centre on the site of a former shipyard. The converted
premises include a theatre (run in conjunction with the renowned
Schauspielhaus), the Moods jazz club, two connect halls, LaSalle restaurant,
pictured, and Nietturm, a scenic tower bar. Its opening back in 2002
kick-started the revival of Zurich West: formerly an industrial one, it is now
a trendy and vibrant district, full of hip galleries, restaurants and clubs.
