Portraits
of Queen Elizabeth II at National Portrait Gallery, London
As part of the 2012 countdown to the London
Olympics the National Portrait Gallery and BT will be showing over 30 stunning
printed panels in major UK cities. The 30 panels will tour the country this
spring and summer, and large-scale portraits of Jessica Ennis, Victoria
Pendleton, Tom Daley, David Weir, Seb Coe and Danny Boyle will all be on
display. Photographers exhibiting work include Finlay MacKay, Emma Hardy,
Bettina von Zwehl and Brian Griffin.
The free show will open in Cardiff on 30
March and stay until 27 May before going onto the Edinburgh Mound Precinct from
1 June and then onto Birmingham Centenary Way, from 13 July until 9 September
2012. The images will be on show 24 hours a day for the public to see. The
exhibition comes under the collaborative ‘Road to 2012’ project from BT and the
