Obesity in children has become an increasing disease in the fast few decades. Obesity in the teenage years can contribute in bad effects later then, from inferiority, and weak body function to the abuse of prohibited substances and eating disorders. Instead of frying your chicken, try grilling it with a crunchy coat in the microwave. Change to water, diet soda and sugar-free mixed drinks instead of drinks having sugar. Use turkey hot dog or low-fat hot dog and bacon. Combine healthy snacks such as light popcorn, fruits, graham crackers, baked chip and pretzels as alternatives for snacks high in fat such as regular chips and candy. You don’t need to completely forbid your child from eating what they like, as this can lead to sneaky eating at school or with their friends. Encourage new foods while sometimes allow them to eat what they like. The kids may be surprised to find out that they love other alternatives as much as they love their old food.

It’s hard to achieve and maintain healthy weight if you don’t practice any kind of exercises. Lots of children who don’t do exercise may need some instruction to find their favorite activity. Children usually think that exercises are activities such as running, weightlifting team sports while there’re tons of other choices for those who love activities for one. Ice-skating, karate, cycling or even natural walking are also activities that burn calorie and boost your body strength. Think creatively about combining exercise in your daily life. If your child loves book, take them to the library. If they are interested in “fighting” video game, let them have karate lesson. To those who love music, encourage them to participate in the marching band. Take your little artist for a walk in the park to draw trees and animals. There’re lots of ways to take your child’s interest and combine them in a healthy life without changing their true nature.
