Though you’ve made well psychological preparation, read lots
of books and do2uments, you can still be surprised of things happening after
giving birth.
It’s simple as it’s going to be completely different from
what you’ve imagined before!
1.
Your time will completely depend on the baby
Congratulation – you and your baby have come home. Your life
will change amazingly and surprisingly. Your daily routine is now your baby. Newborn
babies sleep up to 18 hours per day, but their sleep is divided into naps,
between those naps is the time for eating, changing diapers and tons of other
unnamed tasks.
You can set your mind at rest. After several first weeks
struggling, your child will have longer and sleep and at right time, and you
will be able to manage your time better.

2.
You’ve joined a global club
Suddenly, you have a lot of new friends. Strangers will
smile upon you. Other mothers will ask you about your child naturally, and give
you sincere advice. Hence, you can yourself synthetize the most suitable
parenting knowledge for your situation and family.

3.
Your relationship with your husband will change
Before delivery, many people are pretty confident when
talking about their relationship with their husband, and they almost believe
that nothing is going to change after the baby is born. If you’re one of these,
you will be surprised as, in the family, there will be one more person to
communicate with, which also means that two of you will have less time for each
other.
If one of you takes main responsibility for the baby, the
other will feel to be forgotten. And, sometimes when being too busy, people can
forget to talk and communicate with their partner.
If one of you
takes main responsibility for the baby, the other will feel to be forgotten
To improve this fact, it’s best for both of you to learn how
to share housework and the responsibility of taking care of the baby. Besides,
each week you can ask your parents or the baby-sitter to look after your baby
for a shift so that you can have time “dating”.
4.
You will buffoon more than you can imagine
Babies learn by watching and communicating to the
surroundings. You will quickly realize that you’re doing absolutely stupid
things to encourage the learning process of your baby. Laughing, making funny
faces, creating strange noise… are the popular ways to get the attention of the
babies.

5.
You need help
Being with the baby is a joy; however, sometimes you may
feel overloaded as you keep on doing and doing things but can’t finish them.
Don’t try to do it on your own, just ask for help. When your husband is out,
you can ask other members in your family or even your friends, your relatives
or neighbors… for help. Watching a movie, reading a book, taking time to have a
bath… will make you feel like being powered up to have more energy to continue
taking better care of your baby.
6.
Talk naturally to the baby who can’t talk yet.
Don’t think that your baby is too small to know how to talk,
as you’re dead wrong. When talking to your child, 2 things will happen: the
baby will learn how to talk and you will feel the strong attachment with your
baby.
The more you speak to your baby, the better it is. Whether
your child is smart or not – somewhat depends on the quality of these
conversations.

7.
You usually feel guilty
Before giving birth or even before getting pregnant, you’ve
read lots of documents, magazines about parenting knowledge. What should you do
and shouldn’t do to your baby…, and you believe that you will become a devoted
mom/dad.
However, you shouldn’t blame yourself too much if you
accidentally do something different from what the books have shown you, as long
as it doesn’t hurt or cause damage to the baby.

8.
You will become a judge
The more the baby grows, the more you will see yourself as a
judge. You will have to create laws, regulations such as where to play, when to
play, how to play with siblings… Discipline can’t be built easily, but that’s a
part of parent’s job, and that’s good for the baby.
If you have 2 or more babies, you should try to spend time
for each baby so that they can feel that their parents have the same love and
care for each of them.

9.
The love for the baby
To some people, love for their baby comes immediately, but
some need time to get familiar with having the baby by their side and loving
the baby. Someday, you will look at your baby and feel the deep love that you
have never had before, and you will feel comfortable and pleasant. Enjoy and
try to hold on to this feeling, as it makes you better on a journey to become
parents, which is full of challenges.
