How
to drink water right in hot season?
Drink warm water
Some people like drinking iced water
despite the fact that cold water can cause gastrointestinal discomfort, cramps
or even diarrhea. In the contrary, other groups of people like drinking hot
water. Drinking water that’s too hot can cause esophageal mucosal injuries and
stimulate mucosal proliferation which can lead to esophageal cancer. For that
reason, the temperatures of the water that is drunk shouldn’t be too hot or
cold; the most suitable temperature is 10-30 degrees Celsius.
Drink water as slowly as possible
Drinking
water slowly is good for health.
When thirsty, many people drink the whole
glass that’s full of water at once without knowing that that drinking habit is
not good for health and able to cause serious consequences to the body.
Firstly, drinking water in a short period of time can rapidly thin the blood
and increase the burden on the heart. It’ll dangerous if you drink water while
exercising, running or doing hard work… Secondarily, you’ll sweat a lot and by
that time, if you drink too much water in a short time, it can lead to the loss
of electrolytes, such as sodium, potassium…, and make you feel thirstier.
Besides, drinking water so hastily can cause hiccup or distention. The best way
to drink water is drinking slowly and small amount of water each time. That
will help reduce the thirst.
Everyone needs different amounts of water
Almost everybody knows that the recommended
amount of water is 8 glasses which are similar to 2 liters of water a day. That
amount of water provides the body with humidity, cleans the intestines,
stomach, and is used for supporting blood circulation. Nonetheless, this is the
general recommendation, the real amount of water that a person needs depends a
lot on the elements like weight, exercising intensity, work environment, and of
course, the weather.
Everyone
needs different amounts of water.
To a normal and healthy person, the amount
of water that should be drunk depends on urinary colors. The normal urine is
often yellow. The dark-color urine shows that you need to drink more water. For
example, to people having fever, they have more chances of lacking water than
normal. When having fever, the temperature of the body will increase.
Therefore, to those people, they need to drink more water sensibly.
In sunny day, if you have to go out, drink
more water to supply the lost water that turns into sweat. This not only helps
you reduce the dehydration, but also prevent sickness caused by the heat of the
sun. If you stay in a conditioned room all day, you and your skin are all
affected by dehydration; you need to drink more water.
