2. Clean mouldy
grouting or sealant with a toothbrush dipped in a solution ofone part bleach to
four parts water. If black marks remain, try HG Mould Remover
3. Clean crusty
deposits around chrome taps by saturating a soft cloth or kitchen towel in
white vinegar and wrapping around the tap. Leave overnight, then rinse thoroughly
with warm soapy water. Shift any remaining deposits with an old toothbrush.
4. Clean brass
fixtures by making a paste of bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice. Lightly
scrub, leave for a few minutes, the buff with a clean cloth.
5. Remove dried
hairspray from mirrors by wiping with a little surgical spirit on a soft cloth.
To remove stubborn wings around toilet bowls, use a pumice stone. Keep it wet
and rub until the ring has gone. Do not use on enamel or plastic.
6. Take care
choosing floor tiles. Ceramic tiles can be dangerously slippery, so look for
non- slip finishes.
7. Choose a
lavatory with a dual flush to help save water. It has a half- flush and full-

vitreous enamel- coated cast- iron or steel bath, only use products as anti-
scale ingredients may dull enamel. To remove limescale, treat with a solution
of half white vinegar and half water, then rinse.
