5. Complexion check
Look at your face and your complexion. Note its color and
luminosity. Do you have a healthy glow or is your skin dull? Do you have bags
under your eyes?
What it means
Bags under your eyes suggest that your body is struggling,
as does a grey complexion. ‘Since the skin is our largest organ it carries lots
of information about the body - including a liver under stress,’ says Bull. ‘If
your liver is rosy and unburdened by bad habits, sickness or other stresses,
that is a lot of the body’s energy saved for keeping you rosy, too.’
What to do
Keep your liver happy - and banish bags under your eyes in
the process - by drinking home-juiced or fresh vegetable juices, and ditching
high-salt, unhealthy, processed food. ‘After a week your liver will thank you
for it and your eyes will brighten,’ says Bull.

6. Tongue check
Stick out your tongue and note its color. Is it a healthy
pink or does it have a white coating? Are there any cracks or prominent lines?
What it means
The tongue is the only part of your digestive tract visible
to the eye. Many health practitioners believe its appearance offers information
about our inner health, ‘If your tongue looks a mess - cracked, white covered
and smelly - what kind of condition are your insides going to be in?’ says
Bull.
Stick out your
tongue and note its color.
What to do
If you notice your tongue is looking furry or cracked, try
improving your health habits for a few days and see if you notice an
improvement. ‘The great thing about the digestive tract is that it is quick to
regenerate within days, as long as it isn’t being burdened with an ongoing
aggravator,’ says Bull. ‘It is the entry to our health; pay attention and
follows its needs!’
